I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to experience the career discovery tool, Elevations. I found it be to easy to use, informative, comprehensive, and enjoyable. As an experienced career counselor, with a significant interest in career assessment, I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that Elevations systematically integrates all four key elements: personality, interests, values, and skills, in its approach. I had been searching for and exploring individual career assessment instruments but was unable to put together a package that made sense, and could convey the big picture to clients. Elevations accomplishes this, and does it quite well. If it ended there it would still be in a class by itself but it goes even further. It tackles the next steps of considering actual career options, indicating how to research them, and provides additional clarification and prioritizing of work-related values and skills. Amazingly, it is all pulled together with a decision-making grid that highlights those career options that best fit our most important values and skills. I found it be very eye-opening since it helped to clarify for me different career paths that I had been considering. It brought it down to more practical and meaningful terms that allowed me to see where in fact I would best be able to utilize my skills, and do so in a position that would be consistent with my values. Finally, the creation of an action plan, with specific steps as well as recognition of barriers to be overcome, introduces a very real and concrete element to the career discovery process. I am very impressed with the comprehensive nature of Elevations, and how fully integrated it truly is. I realize that it must have taken a tremendous amount of thought, creativity, and effort to design Elevations, and I am quite glad that I have discovered it.
